Career Accomplishments: Involved in development of Elmira Psychiatric Center (EPC), a new facility within the NYS OMH for Inpatient and Aftercare services. Wrote first outpatient manual for the Center, and first integrated inpatient/outpatient manual. Involved in development of EPC’s first inpatient unit - developed written policies, procedures relating to strategic plan, clinical services, administration, staff roles and responsibilities, fiscal parameters, personnel policies; established/prepared environment; Coordinator with other Director of Nursing Advisory Board members to provide a 3-day NYS Office of Mental Health/Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Annual Directors of Nursing Conference for nursing personnel within the two agencies. (Now, known as the NYS Office of Mental Health Directors’ of Nursing Conference) a yearly conference for 36 years. Developed applications for each of the conferences to NYS Nurses Association for approval for continuing education credits for the conference; Involved in NYS OMH Initiatives: a) development first standardized Patient Classification System for NYS OMH facilities ; b), Direct Care Staff Training; Mental Health Therapy Aide Traineeship Program; Directors of Nursing Best Practices Committee, Evidence
